WAIT TIME AND SEDIMENTS
watercolor on paper (The following is a conversation that never happened between an imaginary viewer named Dr. Canklewarts and myself. ) Dr. Canklewarts: Wait?… are those words? I can’t read it. What does it say? Me: They all say different things, this one says, “A Representative Will Be With You Shortly”, this one says, “To Continue In English Press Two” Dr. Canklewarts: Huh?.. Why? Do they all say stuff like that? Me: Yeah, they all have lines taken from automated voice systems, like when you call to pay a bill. This one says, “To Make a Payment Press Three” Dr. Canklewarts: Couldn’t you at least pick pretty words, like from a poem or a famous quote? Me: I could have, but I decided to do something else. I don’t get bored with this. Dr. Canklewarts: Is there something I’m missing? I’m not really sure what I’m looking at. Me: Well… It is what it is. Not that there isn’t an idea behind it. There are many ideas behind these. I could go into a whole big spiel about it if you want. Dr. Canklewarts: Please don’t. Art shouldn’t be so hard to explain. Me: I agree. But, it really would only take a couple of minutes and a small amount of mental effort. Dr. Canklewarts: Anyhoo, good luck with all this stuff. Do you think there is a market for this kind of thing? Me: No pg # 1,000,000,000 1/3 |
